Pregnancy yoga is a gentle and empowering way to support your body and mind during pregnancy while consciously evolving to childbirth. This prenatal yoga course in Rotterdam city centre helps you slow down, connect with your baby, and build trust in your body’s natural ability to give birth.
Through mindful movement, relaxation techniques, and breathing exercises, you develop strength, flexibility, and inner calm — essential tools for pregnancy, labor, and early motherhood.

About the prenatal yoga course

This 12-week prenatal yoga course is designed specifically for pregnant women from 14 weeks onward. Each class supports the physical, emotional, and mental changes of pregnancy with safe, pregnancy-adapted yoga postures.

The focus is on body awareness and mindful pregnancy, helping you recognize what you need in each moment. This sensitivity naturally carries over into labor, allowing you to respond with confidence rather than tension. Relaxation plays a central role. You learn practical relaxation techniques for pregnancy that help you release tension, even when experiencing discomfort or pain. These skills are invaluable during labor and birth.

Breathing exercises for labor & birth preparation

Every class includes focused breathing exercises for labor. Deep belly breathing helps you:

  • Relax your nervous system
  • Improve focus and endurance
  • Strengthen your inner resilience

You will practice breathing techniques that support you during contractions and especially during the pushing phase. Your breath becomes a powerful tool for labor preparation and childbirth itself.

Partner yoga during pregnancy

Once a month, the final class is a partner yoga pregnancy session. These sessions are highly practical and focused on preparing for childbirth together.

Partners learn:

  • Supportive positions for contractions
  • Massage and relaxation techniques
  • Breathing guidance and emotional support

This partner yoga pregnancy experience strengthens connection and teamwork, supporting you now during pregnancy. It helps both of you to evolve towards birth as a united team.

Practical information

  • Suitable from 14 weeks pregnant, please contact for later starts
  • No prior yoga experience required
  • Prenatal yoga Rotterdam city centre
  • Classes every Thursday, 18:00 – 19:15
  • 12 lessons, including 3 partner classes
  • Start at the beginning of any month
  • Drop-in pregnancy yoga classes available after completing the course
  • Trial class: €15
  • Full course: €225 (most insurance companies cover partly)

Pregnancy wellness & holistic birth preparation

This course is more than yoga — it is a complete pregnancy wellness class for expecting mothers who want to prepare holistically for birth, parenthood, and the postpartum period.

Yoga met Geesje is affiliated with the Dutch Association of Yoga Teachers. Many Dutch health insurers partially reimburse pregnancy yoga courses.
